Amazing tacos. We called 10 minutes before they closed and asked if we could still dine in. They allowed us to order and enjoy our meal in the dinning room even minutes before closing. The food was great. Our group was a party of 7 and we tried the asada, al pastor, chicken, chorizo/longaniza, and each one was amazing. They also have great horchata.

Sometimes a small restaurant business can gives the best dining experience of the country the food is representing. This is the case of Lupita's Taco. No luxurious building with expensive decorations and furniture. Just a clean, cozy, and comfortable little building with a few tables and chairs, a counter where orders are taken and paid for, and a small kitchen behind where orders are prepared and taken out to your table by one of the servers. When I arrived to the restaurant that is well known in the area for the $1 tacos on Tuesdays, I was impressed by how small it was. The main room where orders are taken and paid for and with a few tables and chairs for customers to seat down and eat, is souranded by large windows where light can come in as well as people can look in from the street and see a very clean restaurant full of people eating and others ordering items to go. There is a second smaller seating area, this one with walls and smaller windows. As I entered the door, there were several signs both on the wall and standing on the floor. There was an enlarged colorful menu on the wall, and a floor sign with the days of operation and special daily menus. Behind the counter a friendly employee greeted me and took my order. To drink I ordered a Mango juice, as an appetizer I ordered 2 Longaniza tacos, as the main course I ordered a steak Milanesa (breaded steak), and for dessert a Pastel de Tres Leches. I paid with a credit card and then went and sat at a table next to a wall with an outlet where I could charge my cellphone that was running low in power. While I was there several people came to pick up orders to go; a couple of groups of workers, and some families as well. After all it was a Friday evening. When my food was ready one of the servers brought it to me. All the items looked and tasted delicious. The Steak Milanesa was a bit thin but tasted good. There was a small table up front with all kinds of sauces to put on your food. This is a comfortable little place where you can enjoy genuine Mexican food, alone or with family and friends. Nothing gourmet, just good home cooking.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars for their $1 pork tacos on Tuesdays. The tacos are small but tasty and well worth a dollar. You can choose between pastor tacos, carnitas tacos, or a combination of both. I've been twice and both times I ordered to-go. I got 3 pastor tacos and 3 carnitas tacos, both with everything on them, but I believe you can choose any combination you desire. I personally think 6 of their tacos is the perfect amount for a full meal, and a $6 taco meal is a great deal. Lupita's advertises that their $1 tacos are available about 11-3 but I went at 5 pm and they were still available.

Food was very good and prices were reasonable. Service was a bit slow because they stay busy, but food was fresh and well worth the wait. The pozole was some of the best I have had, the tacos are delicious and who can argue with dollar tacos on Tuesday?!! This is a must try!!

Out of every restaurant in roanoke, My Favorite, It is so authentic, I love everything from the music to the feeling you get as soon as you walk in !

Amazing tacos, a weekly ritual for me to come on Tuesday and order 20 tacos for $1 each!! The carnitas and el pastor they have exclusively for that deal are amazing and completely worth it. Definitely my favorite taco spot.

Really good authentic Mexican food. The tacos were as good as ones we actually dined on it Mexico. It's not fast food so be prepared for a reasonable wait. They also have a good selection of Mexican beers, sodas, and juices. The prices are incredibly good ($8 for 4 tacos). I could eat here everyday too bad I don't live in the area.

Lupita's tacos is amazing! Their tacos are super good and really hits the taco cravings. They do $1 carnitas and Al pastor tacos for Tuesday but other than that it's typically $2 for one taco. Be sure to order ahead because they make it to order and it may take a while. The tacos dorados is really good too! The fried corn tortilla with the chicken, tomatoes, and lettuce go really well together. On the weekends they have pozole and menudo. Pozole is like a bean and meat soup which is very warming and hearty. Menudo is made of intestines and can be off putting if you aren't used to the taste but it's really good! It reminds me of a Cantonese dish at dim sum. Overall I highly recommend coming herr got your taco craving!
